From actor Timothée Chalamet to NFL star Marshawn Lynch, Kalshi is building a roster of celebrities endorsing its platform.
Dropping today (Sept. 10), the latest ad features Lynch checking out the Kalshi 2027 football champion report while checking out at a convenience store—buying some Skittles of course, the candy he famously snacked on during games.
A girl recognizes him, activating Beast Mode as Lynch transforms into a superhero-type version of himself. The nickname dates back to his running style in the NFL, which turned “Beast Mode” into Lynch’s signature catchphrase and persona.
However, this convenience store transformation quickly turns very inconvenient when he can’t pick up his phone, smashes some glass, and his car turns into a monster truck.
The key message: Kalshi unlocks your inner Beast Mode.
“Marshawn’s personality is truly one of one. That’s what has made his catchphrase ‘Beast Mode’ so iconic,” said Keaton Inglis, head of growth at Kalshi. “Instead of taking the traditional route and having him run through walls, we wanted to explore the regular, everyday side of being Marshawn and constantly hearing ‘Beast Mode’ from fans, wherever he goes.”
Kalshi continues to make waves with its advertising created by independent agency es muy good. Kalshi’s ad with Chalamet, “Dentist,” launched over the summer during the World Cup. Its new spot with Marshawn launches in time for the NFL season kick-off.
“[Lynch’s] acting ability and comedic timing really brought this home. Even after wearing the superhero suit for hours, he still shook everyone’s hands on set at 3:30 a.m. If I could, I would draft him to my fantasy football team,” said Steve Gonzalez, founder and executive creative director of es muy good.
“Beast Mode” was shot on 35mm film and directed by Craig Gillespie, with cinematography by Masanobu Takayanagi. It was filmed in the same grocery store as Fast & Furious, using the same opening car. Legacy Effects, the company behind the Superman, Iron Man, and Avatar suits, built the Beast Mode suit.
On the creative process, Marshawn said, “When the squad came to me with this concept I was like, ‘for real? That’s what we doing? I’m with it for sho’.’ I wish I could turn into a big ass super hero every time someone yelled ‘BeastMode’ at me. Kalshi has been great to collab with and I’m lookin’ forward to what we got coming next.”
